Michelle Obama is working with a makeup brand to help increase voter registration.
The former first lady teamed up with The Lip Bar to create a new liquid lipstick, and forty% of the proceeds of the product will become to When Nosotros All Vote, a non-profit arrangement that aims to increase voter turnout in the The states.
The Lip Bar is a Black-owned brand that sells vegan, cruelty-costless makeup. Its founder, Melissa Butler, appeared on ABC'south "Shark Tank" Television series. The Lip Bar offers heart, lip, and face makeup and is known for tailoring its products to a broad variety of pare tones.
The brand'southward showtime lady-approved, matte-red liquid lip color comes in a shade called Bawse Voter. Information technology is currently available to purchase on the brand'south website and retails for $fifteen at the time of writing. The Lip Bar said on its Instagram page that Bawse Voter is a limited-edition shade, and there are merely 500 in stock.
"Proud of this moment not just because of Michelle Obama, but too bc we partnered with @whenweallvote to support voter registration!" Butler wrote in the explanation of an Instagram photo on September 9, which shows Obama wearing the Bawse Voter color.

Representatives for both The Lip Bar and When Nosotros All Vote did not immediately answer to Insider's request for comment.
